Travis LeRoy Southworth

Who wants to buy an awesome artwork for $25!!

I am making an artwork of mine into a special affordable edition for those who may be interested in getting that creative/scientifically intrigued person a great gift this year.

Similar Seemingly Absurd Infinities, 2009, 4.5 x 3 in, edition of 250
is an inkjet print of dust removed from 100 NASA training photos. Each print is signed along with a hand etched magnifying glass for your viewing and observational pleasure. The width of the print is the same of the magnifying glass.

Yes that is correct, this is a print of NASA dust digitally removed from 100 photos and overlaid on one another. Much of my artwork involves collection small bits of cultural detritus and abstracting it from its environment.

The title is pulled from Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time where he talks about ‘dubious math’ and infinities canceling one another out in competing theories of the Universe.
